The journal paper Back-analysis of geophysical flows using a 3-dimensional runout model has been accepted for publication in the Canadian Geotechnical Journal. The finite-element software package LS-DYNA was used to calculate the internal friction angle of a series of debris flows in Hong Kong. Read the full article here.

The Géotechnique paper Dry Granular Flow Interaction with Dual-barrier Systems is now available online. Both small-scale flume tests and the finite-element package LS-DYNA were used to understand multiple mechanisms of interaction between flows and dual-barrier systems.
